Dearborn Highlands Arts Council was founded in December 1982, by a group of local citizens committed to creating an organization presenting quality programming and assisting local artists to perform, exhibit and educate. Since that time, DHAC has established a broad range of programs that offer a wide and excellent variety to local citizens.
Activities & Programs include OPEN Gallery/Marketplace with
bi-monthly exhibits, generating sales, conversations and understanding of various art forms; Arts Alive! Art Fair & Gift Bazaar providing sales opportunities during November and December for local artists and arts organizations; Library Classics Series featuring regional artists with free admission possible by funding from the Lawrenceburg Public Library Services and Resources Foundation; Artist-in-Schools program providing arts experiences for students that directly reinforce the school curriculum.
The mission of the Dearborn Highlands Arts Council is to serve, expand, and enrich the lives of residents of Dearborn County and adjacent areas through education, exposure, diversity, enjoyment, and participation in the performing and visual arts.
