Dearborn Highlands Arts Council is committed to offering all visitors and program participants, regardless of limitations, a pleasant guest experience.

 

Our Executive Director and volunteers strive to provide everyone with a quality experience when they visit and accommodations are available for persons with special needs. All guests are encouraged to contact us a week in advance of the specific event for additional information and/or to offer feedback so that they may better serve our visitors.

Gallery: Youth Art

Reception: March 27, 6 - 8 pm

DHAC Galley is excited to again host a regional Youth Art Exhibit to recognizing the creative work of local students. This exhibit provides a forum for acknowledging skills that are fostered through experience in the visual arts that are not possible in other subjects in the curriculum. 

Awards sponsor: The Friendship State Bank. 

Organized by a committee of teachers in conjunction with the Dearborn Highlands Arts Council, Youth Art Month (YAM) is an annual observance to emphasize the value of art education for all students and to encourage support for quality school art programs.

Buffalo Ridge Jazz Band - POSTPONED

Lawrenceburg Public Library, Stegner Meeting Room, 2 pm

The Buffalo Ridge Jazz Band is a group of well-seasoned musicians whose specialty is Classic Traditional Jazz. The musical effect is at once entertaining, humorous and infectious. Founded in 1994 by veteran banjo artist and showman, Bob Adams, the band continues to gain an increasing number of fans on domestic and international stages.

 

The Tri-State region of the Greater Cincinnati Area is home base for this popular group. The band's performances for jazz clubs, on cruises, at park concerts and jazz festivals always draw rave reviews, and its recordings have received critical acclaim. The Buffalo Ridge Jazz Band is sure to provide listeners of all ages with a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Bacchanal Steel Band - POSTPONED

Lawrenceburg Public Library, Stegner Meeting Room, 2 pm

The Bacchanal Steel Band - Brian Malone, tenor pan; Jennie Malone, double second pan; Bill Jackson, bass; Bernie Wells, drums  - is an ensemble that seeks to entertain and educate using Caribbean music and the worlds newest acoustic instrument, the steel drum.  Bacchanal perform regularly at parties and in outreach and feature presentations in schools, libraries, concert halls and for private functions.  Their debut CD, Standard, features music written for pan by the greatest composers of the genre as well as local artists.

Gallery: SPRING INTO ART

Reception: June 26, 6 - 8 pm

DHAC Gallery hosts the annual spring art show featuring paintings, drawings, photography and sculptures. Artists will be displaying their work during the exhibit and an award ceremony. Email for Guidelines/Information.

ARTS ALIVE! ART FAIR & GIFT BAZAAR

An Art Fair every day - celebration of Fine Arts and Crafts Vendors - pottery, painting, artwear, candles, lotions, stained glass, woodworking, quilts, etc.   

Silent Auction: November 28 - Perfect North Slopes, Connor Prairie, Holiday World, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Cincinnati Reds, COSI, Krohn Conservatory, Wonderlab, Climbtree,  NCAA and more.

Rivertown Players Celebrates Winter Wonderland

The Rivertown Players, Inc. is a premier community theater servicing SE Indiana, Northern Kentucky, SW Ohio, and surrounding communities.

The Nutcracker/Madcap Puppets

North Dearborn Branch Library, 11 am

Little did Maria know when she received a mysterious Nutcracker as a gift, how quickly her life was going to become an adventure. Madcap turns this classic Holiday story into a fantastically funny tale, filled with giant puppets and comical characters.
